Make a donation to ReadAble today.

ReadAble is a not-for-profit Singapore Registered Charity.

If you have any questions, want to fundraise for us, or would like your donation to go toward a specific use, do get in touch with us. Otherwise, all donations will be used for general purposes.

Since January 2014, ReadAble has grown from conducting a single class in a student’s home in Chin Swee Road to running multiple classes in the classrooms of Jalan Kukoh Residents’ Committee Centre, online, and at students’ homes.

In 2016, we started an English class for the migrant mothers of our students to help them navigate life in Singapore. In 2019, we launched CountAble to give our students a good foundation for Mathematics. We also set up an outreach arm ReadyAble that trains other community-based literacy programmes.

Today, ReadAble (including CountAble) serves more than 100 children and families living in Jalan Kukoh every week.

Through generous donors, our children get to experience extra-curricular activities such as music, dance, theatre, museums, speech & drama, cooking, and art & craft. We also procured curriculum materials, funded volunteer training activities, and supported families with acute financial needs to ensure their children’s schooling is not interrupted.

As we shifted to online learning during the pandemic, we have also ensured that students are equipped with laptops, WiFi, and other hardware to minimise interruptions to their learning journeys.

As we continue to grow, we want to continue to deliver successful outcomes to the students under our care. We need to buff up our resources, train our volunteers, and empower students with enrichment opportunities.

If you are in a position to do so, please consider making a donation to us so that we can better serve our partner families and their children. Any contribution would be highly appreciated and would go towards closing the inequality gap. Thank you for your generosity.
